We are here!

It took us a while... a long plane ride, a trip into the bermuda triangle, losing some time, getting thrown up on... but we made it! 12 large pieces of luggage , somehow made it all here in one piece.
We slept some on the plane, some more than others. Midget slept almost 6 hours after she threw up. Not sure if it was nerves, food or a bug. Unluckily for me it was me she was laying on. Yuck... luckily for everyone else no one really saw since we were sitting in the little pod. All i could think of was grammie talking about the hubby's brother starting a chain reaction. Seeing as we were going to be on the plane with these people for 14 hours, i didn't want to be those people. Thankfully i had a change of clothes, and it didn't get on her at all. Once she finally fell asleep she was fine. Monkey slept after watching some movies. He felt he was th eking, and told the stewart guy about 4 hours after everyone else ate he was ready for some chicken now. This when he walked up to the stewaress place alone... Then the lady says she has to go check, and about 45 minutes later, and a little inconvenience the snotty french steward guy comes with it, and monkey is asleep. The guys was so annoyed i woke the kid up, hey your chicken is here... it was funny, i mean he totally made these people go all the way to the back to get this stuff, and then he's asleep.
First class is definately the way to fly though. I didn't see any difference on the short flight, but the long one with all the extra room, it's heaven.
We are here in our teeny-tiny hotel room. It's got a small living area and a seperate bedroom. Seeing as there are 4 of us, we need atleast another bed. Hubby is working on that today. I'm emailing the realtor already, help please!! We can't get our villa until his visa is done, but i hope it's soon. This is a lot of togetherness :)
The kids are bugging me to go out here in a bit, i think we may venture to the mall and to see the beach that is supposed to be here, i haven't seen it yet ;)

squatters

We are living like squatters now. Beds on the floor, eating on tv trays. All of us huddled around the little 15 in tv. It's rather funny though :) Monkey said it's like camping. We've got 5 more days. Not quite sure how we are going to get all this done. The hubby is living the good life in his nice fancy hotel. They are showing him all around, and he's loving it. I'm glad he's going to like it there. The main hospital is really excited about his. I can't wait for him to get home though. We got used to having him here all day!
So i'm spending my days sorting, and piling and packing. I wish they would go ahead and get the tickets so we knew how the flights were going. I would think it costs more at the last minute. Although my understanding is the man who is funding the hospital, owns the airlines. Maybe that is a way of thinking i could never get :)

Moving day

Bye bye stuff!!!

ok, so monday the big moving day was here, and it was chaos!! Not only did we have to choose what was so important to go, and not go, we had to keep track of the stuff we were putting in storage. Once the boxes start filling up it's a harsh reality, and then it's down to we don't realllyyy need that, but darn i want it! So we lost some office chairs, but kept the double papason. Priorities and all :) We kept midget's bike, but really monkey's was small, so we opted to get him one there. We did keep the 4 wheeler, really that is going to be fun for the kids. Towards the end we realized as midget screamed where is isabella???!!! Amid the tears we found her beloved bitty baby had been packed, and her american girl doll. The guy who helped us was kind enough to open a few boxes and we found them. That was traumatic for the poor girl, she was hypervenilating. We had also just gotten the bag to carry the doll on the plane, so that interfered with her little idea of how the airport was going to go. We also had the coolest driver ever, he had a purple truck, and he was like the texas samuel jackson. so here are the pics of that day, and thank god it is over. Our stuff is set to arrive over there on sep 25th, so i hope we have our villa by then!! We als managed to get our beloved mad hatter that midget loves on there. dad was not to thrilled, i think he suggested he fall off the boat :) Look how these guys packed the truck. It was amazing!! They literally were holding our bed in as they shut the door. Hubby was going to get his money's worth on storage in that container. :) The guy was so nice too, midget and i were at the entrance to the neighborhood when he drove off, and he honked like crazy and waved. So there went our stuff, to the other side of the world!
We had packed our printer and i had gotten the good word a great school had openings. So hubby borrowed his parents printer and we were up until 1 last night scanning and printing out every detail of the kids lives, to find out their email was messed up. So hopefully that will be fixed, as spots in schools are hard to get!!od

Crazy times

These past couple of weeks have been crazy! Trying to get everything sorted before we go, and trying to fit time in to see everyone we want to see is no easy task! We've had some nice visits with everyone though, so that has been nice. Uncle Bob and the boys had a great time at the gun range, and then he hung around to watch a chic flick. Yes boys, i am outing you all. The boys were all talking, and midget and i were watching the diary of a mad black woman. We love madea, so the boys come over, and next thing i know midget is doing Bob's nails. So funny!
We also went for a family dinner to hubby's family. Grandpa broke out the bb gun, and the kids had fun shooting it. Grandma made a lot of food, and that was nice too.
We also are working to get the house listed so our favorite realtor has been helping us out with our favorite baby. He's such a cutie!

moving along

The boys off for some fun :)

This is the man who doesn't like cats...

Things are moving along. We are going through all our stuff, which is nice. It's kind of nice to purge all the stuff you don't really need. The big movers are coming on Monday, the little ones on tuesday. It should be interesting and scary to see the guys move that gigantic gun safe... ugh. We went and saw hubby's parents yesterday. The kids had fun hanging out with them. I was worried the mosquito's were going to carry them away! I guess trees brings them.
Today the boys are off to the gun range. I think monkey was thrilled to go!

40th party..

So yesterday we had a welcme hme/bday party for my favorite husband ever. I can't believe he's 40! Seems like yesterday we met. That adorable red-head with all those striped t-shirts. Anyway, we had all his friends over from 15+ years ago. Some we hadn't seen in over 10 years. We rented a video game trailer, but i think they had more fun just catching up. It was so great to see all of them. Some of them had kids we hadnt seen. It's funny though, even though all the years passed, some had new fmailies, new jobs, some had quit smoking, lost hair and gone grey. These are the type of friends that you can just catch up with and they seem that they have never gone away. They are still the same people, and same great friends. I know he had a great time catching up, and that is what i hoped for :)

catch up pics...

So here are some pics from the past couple weeks. Some from the mosquito infested park trip.. and some from the hubby's bday day when he first got back. Some from skate camp. Yes, the candles on his bday cake are on a cake with missing pieces. His first night back he fell asleep, and the kids were dying for cake. Sad, but true. A funny thing, the spot on the pic with monkey skating is actually at the park where his dad used to skate.

i'm on an island somewhere...

Yes, i'm on a nice warm sunny island, the bahamas, yes we are back there playing in those beautiful blue waters.... HA! I wish! No, we are still here, in utter chaos. Sounds so good though, i certainly wish i was!
My MIL is nice enough to relieve a big part of our stress and is taking our favorite cat Sheldon for us until we can get our villa over there. Monkey is totally freaked out about being apart from him, but after grammie's visit yesterday he's feeling better. The woman has raised 2 boys, and a ton of dogs, but he was worried she couldn't do a low maintenance cat. For some reason that just cracks me up. He's very protective of him. So that is one less thing to worry about. We've got the mover's scheduled, the one's to go overseas and the ones to go to storage. We'll see how moving the hubby's huge gun safe goes. He thinks 3 guys can do it, i'm worried about the stairs and the two turns on them. I know where i won't be standing when they move it :)
Amidst all this chaos we have his friends coming over tomorrow. But that will be fun, he hasn't seen them in forever, and some he hasn't seen in 10 years! That should be fun, then sunday back to chaos. But we are going to see his family one day, and that should be nice. They were here yesterday for a while, and the kids went swimming. That was nice and relaxing. But today it's back to work. Ugh!

aaaahhh!

Can someone shoot me please! Here we thought we would take this nice relaxing walk on the trails in the park... the mosquito's thought otherwise. They were horrible!! We we covered in them 5 minutes into it. So much for that family bonding moment. It became every man for himself as we ran back to the car.
Now we found out, that sheldon can't stay at our temporary housing. :( I hate the idea of boarding him. The poor thing has had such a rough life, pre us of course. Now he lives like a king, a tortured king, but a kind none the less. So we have about 4 weeks of no where to put him :( I've called around, but it looks like boarding places put cats in cages the whole time. My mom's cat had a stroke, who knew they could? So he is a handful now. He walks like a drunk man, and poops everywhere. Nice, it's hell getting old for cat's too i guess. The amount it is costing the ship him alone is insaine, so a months boarding on top of that is alot!
Hopefully something will work out. He is such a good cat, i hate to lock him up in a cage. The kids are crying over this, and they want him somewhere he will be loved. Can nothing go easily here???
On a side note, it's still good having the hubby home. I think the jetlag has worn off. He's gotten his smart-ellic self back. Maybe jetlag isn't so bad ?:)
