Best kids ever :)

I've been in a bit of a daze since my dental work. But i have to say I have two of the best kids in the world. Midget took orders from my mom, and next time i turn around she is in her dress up dr's coat, with her clipboard. She had all the directions written down. So adorable! i'll have to scan it later to put up here. She is such a good helper. And my little man, such a big guy now. He made dinner for he and his sister, the fine dining cuisine of ramen noodle soup. The next night, we broadened his menu to include easy mac. The cherry on top was when he said it was hard to get dinner ready when his sister was bugging him every 5 seconds. Really??? i never have had that happen ;)

We played outside some this weekend, since the weather was so nice. Midget was feeling a little under the weather, so it wasn't for long. But it was so nice while it lasted!

ugh...the dentist

I got bad news today. Last night i had a shooting pain in a tooth. So this morning i summoned all my courage and went to the dentist. Never good news... So monday i have to go back and get some work done. I'd rather not think about it. With the hubster gone, not sure how we are going to work this. Other than that life is peachy here, minus the shooting pain :) We went and saw tooth fairy, ironic isn't it? :) IT was pretty funny, and now midget wants some amnesia dust desprately!

oh no..

Ok, so i might be the worst mom ever... Or the most over-protective, paranoid. Monkey's school is having a "winter b all". He is 10. He doesn't really like girls. He is starting too, and his friends too. The ones who are starting to like the girls are the ones with older siblings who have girlfriends. Well, he mentioned it and said his friend was going, and did i think he should go. He didn't realize it was a dance, kids were going to dance with boy/girl. I wasn't ready for it, i didn't even know there was a dance. So i said do you want to go with a girl, he said no. I lied, i flat out lied... I said i'd already bought tickets for a movie he wanted to see and we had reservations for joe's crab shack. It just came out, i don't know why. Well, i do it's back to the over - protective, paranoid part. So he said that sounds better. Out of guilt he's bringing a friend too :)
p.s. he really doesn't like the girls, it's all peer pressure. he was "going out with a girl" for 2 days. she broke up with him, he didn't want to call her on the phone, because she was boring he said. :)
p.s.p.s. Don't judge me.... i was caught off guard and had no time to go to dr. phil.com to see what age is ok for dances ;) kidding.

Update: just so you know, his best friend isn't getting to go, so i am not the only overprotective one :) Maybe we should all start a support group.

The sun is out!!

Finally after a week of cloudy skies, and blaf weather the sun is out. I think after we talk to the big man we will go to the park, and to see the princess and the frog. I don't know how we've gone this long without seeing it.
Hubby's contract is up in march, so we will see what happens with that. All i can say is "auf wiedersehen" to all this being apart :)

what a mess!

I often wonder what do i do all day that keeps me busy. I know lots of people wonder sometimes :) Well, after having a awful headache yesterday, i saw what it is i do all day when i woke up today. I did nothing yesterday, i laid on the couch and whined. Thank you to my lovely kids for not harrasing me to terribly to go do something :) It looks as if we could be on clean sweep, or hoarders! Apparently Monkey decided he was going to teach his sister how to throw popcorn into her mouth. He isn't the best at cleaning so there was some popcorn left on the floor. I can actually see the trail of what they ate. Midget apparently loved drinking out of the wine glasses on new years, so she drank her orange juice out of it again. Toys are left out to see the trail of boredom that they left.
Please don't judge, and don't call cps. They were fed, and had the wine glass broken i would have heard. I was awake enough to referee fights and apply band aids as needed.
I see my day today will be to do what i didn't yesterday. :)

Bumps in the night...

Apparently with the cold, comes noises. All night long we got awakened to loud snapping sounds. Which sent children scrambling into my room. I thought for sure it was pipes busting, but once i stepped onto the floor in the hallway outside my room the loud popping proved to be the wood i am guessing in the floor. So i ended up with 2 kids and a cat in my bed. Shoved onto the last 2 inches clinging to the edge for dear life. My sweet daughter actually complained when i tried to shove her over that "she was getting squished". Hello? You have a lovely room with the nicest pottery barn down comforter that would keep you so warm... Next time i am getting the fancy covers! In true style of my little lovelies they were scared when they came running, but they remembered sheldon's favorite fuzzy pink blanket, so he would follow. This blanket is the secret weapon in the battle for sheldon. Where the blanket goes, he goes. So there are battles over this at night. On some occasions midget will feel generous, and she will allow monkey to have it. She is a girl, so in true gemale style this info is stored. This gesture will be brought up when it is needed to be redeemed. Poor monkey has no idea, he doesn't know that he is now in debt to her. It's funny to watch. So the blanket came with him, and the cat followed. Most nights this would annoy me, but when it is 26 degrees!!! i needed the extra warmth. But, with the popping, the snoring, and all the noise sleep eluded me. Until 5 a.m., then i was deeply asleep and ignored the alarm clock. How do people get out of bed when it is so cold?? We all maanged to get up and out. All bundled up. However, at 10 apparently there is a cool factor. So monkey wouldn't wear the shirt under his, and i imagine he is pretty darn cold. I am guessing there will be a shirt tomorrow :)
The cat, he is all snuggly sleeping the day away... nice life.

Winter Blah...

This weather is really giving me the blah's. We woke up to 60, and 3 hours later it's 30. IT's even going to get to 18! If it's going to be that cold, i want snow. What's the point of being so cold if you don't get snow?
I came across some pics of monkey's little dance show for xmas. She was awfully cute, and the teacher had little skirts for them. Midget has been working hard in school. He's been freakishly agreeable all week, i am wondering what is up with that. I like it, but it's strange:) I feel so sorry for him. He watched a neighbors dog. He has watched it before, and when he did they forgot to pay him. Well during the break they came by, gave him 20 bucks and asked if he would watch their dog again. Thisz wouldn't be a big deal, but it's a runner. It get's out, and we had to keep finding it. So he agreed to watch it. He's a dog person, so he likes to love on it. Once again, they havne't paid him. I guess this is a life lesson. I mentioned it to them, and they said they would bring it down. 2 weeks gone, i am guessing no. I dont' want a rift, they are nice people. So i told him i would give him the money, and next time he was to say no. Life lesson for us all i guess.

Happpy 2010!! The kids rang in the new year at a sleepover with friends. Who could ask for more than their friends having kids the same age, and they all get along? They had lots of fun. I went to see a movie, and went to a party across the street. I saw it's complicated, fabulous movie!! I hadn't stayed up that late in years. Although it would have been much more fun with the hubby there. I was the pity person, and all the girls on the street came after me at midnight :) It was lots of fun though.
I was glad when the kids came home this morning, and we just had a nice dinner. We even broke out the nice glasses. We had ham, cake and brocolli and cheese. It was a nice dinner to bring in the year. I got to talk to the hubby last night around midnight, so that was nice. He got the kids this a.m. It's moce we get to talk to him all the time.
You can see in the pics my new hutch. It's my xmas, new year, anniversary present. Isn't it gorgeous!! We got to get it by xmas, and we both love it.
