Christmas shopping...

We've been busy getting ready for Christmas around here. Hubby did the watchdog day at school, we survived class parties. I had a hard time monkey's. Well, lack there of. It's not like elementary school anymore...sniff, sniff. He said there were no parties, so i believed him. Then in his non-chalant way, said well the teacher said we could bring some snacks or something. Excuse me, this is the morning as we walk out the door. Ugh, it killed me. Luckily i had gotten him a couple boxes of candy canes, but still.. Cookies on a cute plate, something?? Boys, they just don't care like girls do :( He had fun though, someone, with a girl i imagine, brought pizza :) Next year, i will be prepared!
Midget's party was a feast of winter delights, not Christmas, as it's public school :( But they had snowflake cupcakes, and pizza, chips and alot of candy. I was sad to see a good friend of midget's dad there with a new, much younger wife... ugh. That was heartbreaking to find out. She seemed nice, and was nice to her friend. So I hope they are all doing well. She had lots of fun at her party, and it was good we were all there for it.
Here are some pics of hubby being a watchdog. It was lots of work, more than he knew. I might have not mentioned how much on purpose...ssshhh. It made midgets whole year i think. He read to some classes in the library, helped a few kinder kids with their projects, worked at lunch, and helped the principal. Then we all met up for lunch with midget, and broke her out of school early. Fun day for her, but he was a little overwhelmed ;)
Oh, and his stylish vest, says "watch D.O.G.S." And it stands for Dads of Great Students. Sweet :)

Star of the week

This has been a crazy week! Midget is star of the week at school. So that means everyday something special. She had a poster about herself, got to read her favorite book to her class (the sandwich swap)- great book! I made a quick dvd with some pics of her to show her class, very sweet. Today she gets letters from her friends in her class. Plus today I had the odd honor, off droppping my husband and my daughter off at school. That was funny!! Monday was an open house for ballet class too. She was so happy her daddy was there to watch!

Monkey has had exams all week. Crossing our fingers he does well. I'm sure he will though. He's worked hard all semster. he gets to have his friend sleepover tomorrow, and his dad is taking them to the skatepark. Not to mention, when this boy see's his xmas present, he is going to be so HAPPY!!! I'm so excited for him :) Although not sure who is more excited, his dad, or him.
Fred has been busy all week... i think he's getting a bit tired, as he hardly moved a couple days last week. oops... But he's made up for it this week with his silliness!

Here is the monkey, making his very special omlette's for all of us for breakfast! He' s quite the chef. He was making fun of me, since his dad told him i didn't know how to boil water when we got married :)
He was so hard to find this morning!! Wrapped himself up, she says he wanted to stay forever. :)
Here's that pesky Fred. He was making snow angels in the kitchen...with salt!

Fred was taking a bath in the bubbles in the sink. Midget was mad, as he was using her toothbrush as a back brush. She said he left elf hair on it...eeewww!

He left a movie one night, and he ate her hershey bar...

Career day

Today was career day at midgets school. Her dad missed it by one day :( So she asked her uncle to come. He's super busy right now, but agreed to come for her. They were so great! He thought the kids wouldn't want to hear the typical cop speach, so he brought one of his officers and the k9 dog. It was so cute! Hubby was right, and said Johnny Carson was right, never follow a cute dog. :) All the kids went nuts for the dog, and midget was a rock star!

Also, we got some of our xmas decorations up. We got my village up. I love my village. It's one of my favorite holiday traditions. My first village pieces were from hubby's grandma. She actually made them herself with her church group. I cherish them, and it's nice showing them to the kids. Some of the other little building are from my dad. He got one that is a wedding dress shop. So sweet. I have to admit got a little weepy taking these things out. Yes, they are just objects, but they have such memories. Now midget loves the village, and has fun placing the people everywhere, and putting the lights on them. But, we have a invader in the village...

Oddly he is quite agile and never knocks anything over.
