Neat pictures,, and we are alive...

We've spent the day here trying to survive darth princess' strep throat. She's been quite tempermental, and we actually had to get some medicine down her. After a 3 year avoidance of it, you can imagine it did not go well. I wasn't sure if her dad and i would survive, either from her or each other. 45 minutes of sitting, tears, screaming, a potty break, spitting up, and screaming she drank it herself. Holding my hand, and with her dad awaiting a spoon of chocolate ice cream. Note to self, the screaming actually seemed to help her throat though. Cleared up some of the gunk. You needed to know that didn't you?
Anyway, i came across these really neat pictures of different working situations. They certainly put things in perspective in some instances.
Here is the link to the photos, there are some really neat ones!

Having split my hand open on a toilet, and having to have surgery on it because of that makes this one near and dear. Those are very sharp. I hope they are careful.

Bulgaria's parliament has approved plans to seek European Union permission to re-launch two old nuclear reactors mothballed when it joined the EU two years ago. The two aging 440-megawatt reactors at the Kozlodui plant were shut down in 2007. Talk about an important job. I hope these workers are very stable, and not so homer simpson :-)

This one breaks my heart. These kids are around the age of my little man. I can't even imagine the childhood they are having.

The Exterminators....

Odd as it is, the new show on A&E called exterminators is our new favorite in our house. It is so entertaining. monkey boy and i watched it last weekend for 2 hours all snuggled up on the couch. Hey, dad can have video games, i can have a bug show. I mean, who doesn't want to watch a cool looking guy wrestle an alligator? He set a raccoon free, saved the babies, killed a snake and a wasp infestation, all while his hair still looked great. It's a must see if you have boys, even dad liked it. :-)

P.S. Such nice people, the mom emailed me and thanked me for watching the show :)

Here's the sticker.....

Darth Princess.....

My poor baby girl is sick. She has strep throat, and is miserable. What is really sad is her heavy breathing. It's beacause of her tonsils, and they should have come out last year. She was sick, and they said it would be best if we got them out. When we went to do it, she had strep again, and they can't do it if you do. We waited, she felt better and we put it off. She was not feeling bad, and it was okay until the cold/strep season arrived again. It is like Edgar Allen Poe's Tell tale heart. Her breathing can be heard all over the house. God forgive me, but it is so annoying. I know she can't help it. I know it is my fault. But it s like living with Darth Vader. you can hear her downstairs if she is playing upstairs. You can hear her across the house. It is like her breathing is the heart beat in Poe's story screaming at us..
"you should have taken my tonsils out"
"you should have taken my tonsils out"
over and over.
Poor little princess. She went to the dr with her dad and that is a whole other issue. The dr said yes, she has strep. Yes her tonsils are huge and need to come out. Then she says do you want medicine or a shot. They know, she has had so much wrong in her little life, and taken so much medicine. She shuts down. she isn't the screaming kid who you can get a football hold and squirt it in. She is on a whole other level. She has not taken medicine in 2 years. The dr asks, and she said, i will take a shot. Weird. So she did. Poor little girl. She did get a cool sticker. Which she has issues with, she associates them with bad things at the dr, but her dad got her to take it, he liked it. She prefers the upfront dr's who don't do the whole mushy fun bit. Get to the chase with her, and don't play games. Her brother, he want's the sticker and the games :-)

daddy and daughter ball

Oh the cuteness of it all! I would have killed for something like this when i was little. who i am kidding, i would still like a night out with my daddy, and i'm in my 30's! midget got to go with her daddy, and she has been asking how many days for over a month now. She got to wear her pearl-like necklace her grandma got her, and her clip-on earings. The best part for her was her "heels". She has stomped around in these all week waiting. We got her a corsage, and she got daddy a boutinear(sp?). It is like a mini-prom. So fun! They had a great time. They made build a bears, and they even had a magic show!

It's nearly a done deal....

SSHHH... Don't tell my mom, but we are going back to Kuwait. Would it be rude to call her from the plane?
After much debate, and what if's, we've decided to return. With the job market the way it is, and the kids getting bigger, it just seems too much is pulling us that way. The schools here scare me to death. These aren't bad schools, but so much bad is going on in them. Since we went over and came back, the kids seem different. The monkey seems to want more, and is like a sponge. The midget, she just seems to like being treated like a princess. But who doesn't?
Needless to say, the king is in heaven. He is gung-ho, and ready to return. He will go first and get settled.
So we will go back to the sandbox:)
