Midget's prince

Well as some of you have likely heard abot midget's friend Mushari. She met him at school in Kuwait. He was the cutest little guy ever. He was very shy around everyone but her. They would walk around holding hands, and she even said he kissed her once. His mom is actually american, from around pennsylvania or somewhere near there. She says he is a prince and they will get married and she will be a princess. Lots of those in kuwait, everyone is royalty somehow. I am exagerating a bit...
But since a real prince is here in the u.s., i am thinking. Prince Harry has gorgeous red hair. Do you think he is too old for our 6 yr old?? He is so cute :) And he scores bonus points for the fact he would make her a princess. Even more perfect, they use my china...it is fate don't you think?

awesome teacher

This teacher is awesome!! She's a 4th grade teacher in Louisiana who told her students if they all passed the state exam for reading she would eat fried worms. Apparently they were reading the book in her class. They all passed it, and she did it!! She ate 30 fried worms!!!
I don't know about you, but i think that is so great! I bet you everyone of those kids will remember her for the rest of their lives. That is dedication to your job and your students. I hope that the parents chipped in for some pepto bismol for her. :)

School's almost out!!

Only 7 more school days to go!! Yeah!! Then it's the summer, swimming, riding bikes, being lazy....so wonderful. I love the summer, if only it wasn't so humid outside. Oh well, i guess that's part of Texas.

Taks is done, the monkey got a 98, 97, anda 92. We haven't gotten the letter yet, but the teachers showed them. So he is commended on all the subjects he took. That's a relief, that stress the kids out so much they begin to doubt how well they did. I know he was relieved to be done with it, and that he did well. We're so proud of him.

Here's a picture of him in his new hat his super-cool uncle got him from Chicago. He wanted the one with the bear after he saw it somewhere. When we flew through chicago i told him we would get one, but it was football season so there weren't any out. Turns out you can only get them in chicago, as it's an old design? So my brother got him one. Truth be told i think the only reason he likes the cubs id because of him. That's okay though, the cubs are cool in my book too :)

Recital 2009

We survived!! Midget had so much fun, and she did great. She had tons of fun backstage playing games, putitng on make-up and glitter, eating snacks. What's not to love? As she said "today is all about me". So the monkey endured, and was quite supportive. His friends sister takes dance there also, so he had someone to sit by. Grandma came, and that made her very happy. She loves for everyone to come and watch her dance :) She loves to get the flowers in the end, and grandma always gives her roses. Midget put in a request this year for one pink rose from her. Monkey picked out a dozen pink roses, and they were beautiful. So the whole thinkg was a success!!

5 1/2 hours

That was a long 5 1/2 hours for a dress rehearsal! The girls all had so much fun though. They get to play with their friends, dress up and put on make-up, what's not to love? They all looked so adorable too. There is a smaller class of 4 yr olds, who are poodles. They were so cute, big balls of white fluffy tu-tu's with tails and ears. So cute!!

The midget also got her first trophy!! She is so proud and excited. Monkey has alot of them, so this was a big thrill for her. He went to grandma's house for the day, and got to eat shrimp:)

end of the year

We just need to survive this month...then the summer. London...aahhh. The midget keeps telling her dad everytime she gets a chance "see you in london". Sounds like a movie. The monkey is looking forwqard to his birthday at legoland, who wouldn't? Although, i, i mean the midget, is pushing to ride the dumbo ride at eurodisney. I, i mean she, has dreamed about since i was a kid, i mean she :)

But, back to the reality of May. I feel like i should just hold my wallet open this month, All the teacher gifts, pictures, costumes, glasses. $400 dollars for glasses for a 6 yr old, who will likely lose them? seriously?

Her recital is Sunday. This means saturday is the dress rehearsal. i mean saturday ALL day. We signed up to bring crafts, another 40 bucks gone. She loves it though, and that is what matters. The monkey is excited ashis friend's sister is in it, so he has someone to hang with.

Here are some pics of her in her ballet costume, the tap. Well you just have to wait to see it, to believe it :)

Sweetness...

Mothers day is already off to a good start :) My mother-in-law sent me flowers :) How sweet is that? Funny too, because i sent her some. I guess she is right, great minds think alike. I sent her some, because i figure she probably doesn't spoil herself enough, so i thought that would be nice. Rather than slippers or something like that, i figure flowers, totally impractical, but lovely to look at.
We've had an eventful few days. The little princess shoved a large sequin off her pants up her nose. We think, because once we got to the e.r. no one could see it. So, if in future years her intelligence falters, blame me. It's the sequin. The consensus is, if it were in there, it would hurt. Her nasal passages are way to to tiny for it to have fit through, although she says she rolled it up. I am talking so tiny the dr wanted to chisel them to make them bigger. So a giant sequin could not have fit, right?? Her brother was the pillar of support. Loaning her his most prized possession, soldier bear. That is the ultimate sacrifice, which she did not take lightly. I had to remind myself this, to refrain from torturing him as he told every single person we saw from the house to the e.r. and back that his sister shoved a sequin up her nose. I mean the elevator guy, the weird man in the parking garage. The nice man whose mother was having open - heart surgery was glad to hear it, and he found it to be quite funny. So we did make his day better, apparently he had done the same with the marble.
I would take pictures of my flowers, but my memory card seems to be m.i.a., i am guessing it has been relocated to a nintendo d.s.i.
Thank you grammie :)

Mom's new toy :)

I got a new toy, a very cool one. My hubby is the sweetest ever. After our desktop got zapped, and Bob saved the day, he still got me one. Here it is... It is a magical thing, and i can only hope i will figure out how to do all the cool things it does. But the coolest, is the fingerprint swiper, that keeps my genuis 9 yr old off it!! Although, he is trying the mythbusters way of copying my fingerprint...kind of scary.
The midget took this with the new dsi, kind of neat :)

Oh vey, the season of ballet bombardment. Money for the pictures, money for the costumes, money for the flowers, the dvd, the teacher..... And the real kicker..money for the shoes that just suddenly cause her to squeal in pain. Now these shoes will have to be replaced. The sad part, they won't fit her in the fall when it is time to start again. Ugh. But, she loves it, and they all couldn't be
cuter in the recital if they tried :)

How can you be annoyed by any of it though really, look at that smile :)
